Addo is to be found in the lower
Sundays River. This river rises in the Sneeuberg (Snow
Mountains) near Nieu Bethesda, winds its way through the Eastern
Cape of South Africa and passes through the Zuurberg until it debouches
into the sea at Colchester.
Climate
The Eastern Cape is malaria-free which is ideal
for hunting, game viewing and for holidays with children.
In winter, the Addo area enjoys mild days and
nights that can be cold with occasional frost.
At the height of summer, between November and
February, daytime temperatures can be high and sometimes exceed 40
Celsius. As humidity is generally low, the heat is seldom
oppressive.
Rainfall averages about 450mm a year and is
generally distributed through the year.
